Another Tevis has come and gone. The 55th running of the Tevis Cup was a wonderful event with some special highlights. Come back soon when the site is totally updated.

Founded on a bet in 1955 by one of Auburn's prominant citizens, Wendell T. Robie, modern-day endurance riding began with what now is called the "TEVIS CUP." Today there are hundreds of endurance riding events throughout the nation and in many countries overseas that are based upon the methods and standards originally established by this event.

The Western States Trail Foundation, proud sponsor of the Tevis Cup 100-Miles-One- Day Ride, welcomes you to our Web site.

The Board of Governors invites all endurance riders to join us in the events planned for 2011. The next running of the Tevis Cup Ride is scheduled for July 16, 2011.

Remember the words of our founder, Wendell T. Robie: “Ride a horse. Really ride!”

I would like to congratulate all of the 182 riders who entered the 55th Tevis ride; just being able to get to the start line is a remarkable journey and accomplishment. And a special congratulations to all 93 riders who successfully completed the ride. I would like to also thank the 800+ volunteers, sponsors, the WSTF Board of Governors, rider crews, USFS, California State Parks, Auburn Recreation District, and other individuals and businesses who supported us. Together, we all made the 2010 ride a huge success. We hope to see you again at the 56th annual Tevis Ride on July 16, 2011.

Help preserve the Western States Trail for future generations.

2010 BOG Meeting dates: Last meeting of the year will be OCTOBER 2. Except for the work party, all meetings to be at the Sizzler with lunch at 12 noon and meeting starting promptly at 1 p.m.
