We have a critical situation and we need to get into the Granite Chief wilderness area this year and cut it back hopefully before it snows. This is a shine only event. It there is any bad weather going into this event it will be canceled. Here are the details:

Date and Time: Saturday October 11th -- 6:30 AM

Meeting Location: Front of Auburn Raley's Parking Lot (Corner of Foresthill Road and Lincoln Street Auburn). Take I80 East or West and get off at the Foresthill Exit in Auburn. The Raley's shopping center is on the east side of I80

Bring: Snacks, water, layers of clothes, gloves, good garden shears and hand saws. Lunch: We will bring snacks and drinks

Logistics: Plan is to drive (caravan) in as few vehicles as possible to Squaw Valley. If you have a 4WD bring it. We will take our vehicles up to Shirley Lake on the Squaw Valley dirt service road to avoid 4 miles of walking.

Trail Plan: Clear all the alder and aspens back in the spring areas and do any necessary erosion repairs. Hope to see you in a few weeks.
